How did GoPro ended up becoming the fastest social media growing within a year? From what I have researched through multiple articles on the Internet, GoPro simply delivers a quality of its video that has revolutionized the way People use videos through countless social media channels.

  1. I love this company; it is a media and social media darling. It seems like it would be ripe for take over; hmm, wonder why the old companies, like Sony or Kodak (with all its woes) didn’t swoop in and snap up Go Pro? Thanks for the shout out! That post I wrote still gets amazing traction; I even get a call or two from a reporter wanting to speak with Go Pro via me! LOL! I think I’m a good PR person for them!

  2. Interesting. This is word of mouth marketing at its finest, and it’s not being done in the way that many companies are trying to track their campaigns. From what I understand, the GoPro was talked about because the videos that it created were on social media sites. The company itself did not keep up this social media sharing, the good value of the product did. This si definitely a great example of social media sharing that is not being accounted for by other campaigns.

The product itself is so easy to use and is very versatile so people were able to upload their own POV videos to youtube easily and it markets itself as people would always add “Go pro” to the title or in the description. It pays off to have a simple but recognizable name that does everything as advertised.
